Pool Day on the Sheep Ranch

We had a lovely opportunity to spend a Saturday afternoon with friends on their scenic sheep ranch. It's such a treat for me to spend time with like-minded people who love the country life. (And I wish I had more time/energy to write all my thoughts about this lovely family outing, but I don't. There's just too much to do as we prepare to host a DI camp at our house this month. So. This post is pic-heavy and text-sparse. It is what it is!)

Here's our gracious hostess, Jessica T. It was SO fun to chat and admire the fruit of her labors. They've built their own house and it's so cute! It was so fun to visit and get excited over their improvement projects.

The setting was so breathtaking. Check out the rolling fields in the background, just off the deck. Isn't it gorgeous? I could admire the scenery all day. What a treat to live someplace so pretty!

I closed my eyes and imagined sitting on the deck on a crisp morning with a steaming cup of herbal tea and a good book. My heart was full of joy for this family to have such soul-nourishing views each day. It looked like a slice of heaven.

Our Littles adore swimming, so this day was a special treat. It was the first swim of summer. They played and played for hours. It was so fun to watch them have such fun. It's delightful to be alive on days like this!

The pool even had a waterfall and water slide. This was super fun. The children climbed all over it and leaped off of it. They also really loved hiding behind the waterfall and pretending to be spies.

Diego wasn't a big fan of the water, so we trotted off to explore the ranch together. His favorite part? The sheep flock lounging in a pasture.

After hours of fun in the pool, Daniel was pretty wiped out.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch and stimulating conversation with wonderful people. The day came to an end all too soon.

After drying off, we drove an hour back to town for a dinner with other friends and Nathan's barbershop performance that evening. We were tired, but enjoyed the evening immensely. The group performed outdoors while the audience sat in the shade under a huge tree. The music was just beautiful, and the show was full of humor. I adore listening to my sweetheart sing!
